Former Stars athlete and USC standout
Ta'lon Cooper, the former University of South Carolina standout, is taking his talents overseas. The 24-year-old guard has signed with the German professional basketball team MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. Cooper, who stands at 6 feet 4 inches tall, most recently competed in the NBA Summer League for the Orlando Magic.
Before his collegiate career, Cooper was a dominant force at Dorman High School in South Carolina. He led his team to multiple 5A state championships, showcasing his exceptional skills and leadership abilities. Cooper's dominance on the court was evident in his ability to score at will, distribute the ball effectively, and defend with tenacity. His contributions were instrumental in Dorman's success, as he consistently elevated his teammates and made clutch plays in crucial moments. In addition to his high school accolades, Cooper also played for Stars Basketball during high school, where he competed against top-level talent from across the country on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit and further honed his skills. At South Carolina, Cooper showcased his versatility and playmaking ability, averaging 9.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 0.7 steals per game.
